Law enforcement officials have set up a perimeter in the area of Highway 279 and FM 2632 just north of Brownwood, where they believe two juveniles who ran away recently from a facility in Goldthwaite are hiding, Brown County Sheriff‘s Capt. Tony Aaron said at 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The juveniles are believed to be armed.

Aaron asked that people avoid the area if possible, but also asked that anyone in the area who sees anything suspicious notify law enforcement.

The juveniles are suspected of stealing a four-wheeler and a rifle when they escaped from the Goldthwaite facility, and law enforcement officials believe they broke into the Country Stop store on Highway 279 around 5:30 a.m. Monday. They broke out a window, possibly by firing a shot,  Aaron said. They are believed to have stolen some food and fled in a different ATV that was stolen in Mills County.

The pair fled northbound and were confronted by a couple of citizens, and they ran the ATV off the road and ran into the woods, Aaron said.
