LAMPASAS The Brownwood Lady Lions snapped a 10-game skid with their first District 8-3A volleyball victory of the season Tuesday, 25-19, 25-16, 26-24 over Lampasas.

Katie Pevehouse led the offense with eight kills followed by five each from Devin Lyons and Brooklyn Stewart, four apiece by Cynthia Ibarra and Brooke Montemayor and three from Makayla Hight.

Paxton Vaughn dished out 19 assists while Naomi Rosato contributed seven.

Pevehouse and Montemayor served two aces apiece while Rosato, Lyons, Cassandra Mendez and Mabree Moore tallied one each.

Defensively, Lyons recorded 10 digs trailed by nine from Mendez, six from Vaughn, three each from Montemayor and Moore, two apiece by Pevehouse and Rosato and one from Hight.

Stewart chalked up four blocks while Hight, Lyons, Mendez and Moore played a role in one each.

The Lady Lions (5-22, 1-7) will visit Liberty Hill at 6 p.m. Friday then close the season at home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Gatesville.
