NEW MEXICO ? Private services for Billie Jean (Hobbs) Isom, 78, of Alto, N.M., and formerly of Brownwood, will be held at a later date. She was cremated.
She died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Plum Creek Specialty Hospital in Amarillo.
She was born March 19, 1934, in Kilgore, to Henry Harrison Hobbs and Bessie (Hart Huffman) Hobbs. She was married to James Allen Isom on May 27, 1951, in Abilene. She was a LVN and worked as a nurse at Brownwood Regional Medical Center and Brownwood State School for many years.
Survivors include her sons, James Allen Isom Jr. and wife Jeannine of Alto, N.M., Joe Howard Isom of Odessa and David Craig Isom and wife Adriana of Texarkana; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma Bell and husband Monte Bell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Isom Sr.; and brothers, Henry Harrison Hobbs Jr. and William Hoyt Hobbs.
