Iris Eva Reddick, age 85, died on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at home in Jackson, Miss. She was born in Leicester, England, on March 22, 1927.

She met Harry Bynum Reddick, U.S. Air Force with the 305th Bombardment Squadron, and they were married on Dec. 23, 1944, in the Holy Apostle Church of England.

As a World War II bride, she came to America in 1947. She lived in Rising Star, Texas from 1947 to 1950 at which time she moved to Pecos, Texas and lived until the death of her husband, in 2007. Harry and Iris had been married 62 years.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed her friends in the Pecos Modern Study Club. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening and painting.

Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bynum Reddick; and son, Michael John Warwick Reddick. She was also preceded in death by her father, Albert Gregory; and mother, Edith Whittle Dowdeswell Gregory, both of England.

She has five daughters, Patricia Ann Oden of Pecos, Texas, Marilyn Faye (Cookie) and Doyle Clawson of Regency, Texas, Virginia Marie (Skeeter) and Gary Graham of Scottsdale, Ariz., Andrea Rae Cherry of Jackson, Miss., and Mary Lou and David Shipman of Jackson, Miss. She has 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren (plus on the way).

Iris was a devoted and loving wife, mother and memaw.

Heritage Funeral Home will begin viewing from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Feb. 8, with memorial services at noon. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Hwy. 195, Killeen, Texas, 76542.
