Mary Lou Belvin, age 86, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Oakridge Manor.

Graveside services for Mary will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Bangs Cemetery, with Richard Hetzel officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Mary was born on Oct. 11, 1926, in Bangs, Texas, to Lee and Georgia Yarbrough. Mary was the Bangs High School Class of 1944 Valedictorian and graduated from Howard Payne University. She worked as a bookkeeper for many different organizations throughout Texas and was a member of Lake Brownwood United Methodist Church. Mary was married to Homer Belvin on June 3, 1949, together they had two children. She was a loving wife and mother.

Survivors include her son, Ricky Belvin and wife Bonnie of Brownwood; daughter, Helen Lacy and husband Mark of Early; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Belvin; and her parents.
