Brownwood police responded recently to three unrelated incidents involving deceit, theft and hit-and-run.

According to reports:

Officer Anna Sturgeon issued a citation to a motorist last month for driving with an invalid license. Sturgeon learned on June 23 that the motorist had identified himself to Sturgeon by using the name of his brother, who is in prison. Sturgeon completed a report for failure to identify.

Officer Harold Thomas was on patrol Wednesday when he saw someone stealing bags of potting soil from the front of the Big Lots store at 315 E. Commerce. Thomas issued a citation for theft under $50.

Officer Jesse Mares was dispatched Wednesday to the 500 block of Commerce, where a motorist said a pickup exiting the Chili's parking lot collided with his Scion. The motorist in the pickup drove away, but was located later and admitted involvement in the accident.

Individuals booked into the Brown County Jail between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday were:

William Bailey, 42, Brownwood, public intoxication.

Eugene Christman, 30, Brownwood, delivery of marijuana.

Megan Cruz, 19, Bangs, theft, disorderly conduct.

Shawn Hickey, 29, Early, motion to adjudicate for assault.

Kyle Perry, 18, Bangs, disorderly conduct.

Trevolia Rudd, 18, Zephyr, disorderly conduct.

Laramie Seat, 18, Zephyr, theft, disorderly conduct.
