BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons snapped their first losing skid of the season as they overwhelmed Hawley for a 25-17, 25-15, 25-12 victory Tuesday night.

The Lady Dragons (13-5), who were coming off consecutive losses to District 8-3A members Burnet and Llano, combined for 33 kills. Kinsie Ward led the onslaught with 13 kills trailed by nine from Morgan Morales, four from Kady Kyle, three from Jaylee Roberts, two from Kassidy Adams and one apiece from Cheyanne Lovelady and Callie Sprowls.

Lovelady also distributed 21 assists, Adams chipped in three and Kyle was credited with one. Meanwhile, Kyle served a team-high four aces trailed by three from Morales, two from Ward and one each from Adams and Roberts.

On the defensive side, Ward’s 17 digs led all Lady Dragons followed by 15 from Adams, 12 each from Lovelady and Roberts, seven from Morales, six from Kyle, four from Alyssa Rosales and one by Liz Pettit.

Roberts and Lovelady also recorded blocks for Bangs.

“It was good to be back home and you could tell by the way we executed our offense,” said Bangs second-year head coach Colleen Westfall. “The Lady Dragons fought hard for every point and never let their intensity drop.”

Bangs is slated to return to the court at noon Saturday at Class 2A No. 4 Dublin.
