Martha Lou Carouth, 84, of Brownwood and formerly of Rising Star died Saturday morning, Oct. 19, 2013, at the Oak Ridge Nursing Center in Brownwood.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Barnum officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferrell Cemetery near Sidney. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born June 25, 1929, in Blanket, the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Zelma Fay Porter Blackmon. She was married to Jack Carouth of Blanket ,who preceded her in death. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She is survived by daughter, Linda Bates and husband Jimmy of Early; son, Ricky Carouth and wife Netha of Cross Plains; five grandchildren, ReNetha Carouth, Crystal McDaniel, A.J. Carouth, Lisa Temple and Lori Hopper; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Minnie Bishop of Bangs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Audrey Trusty and Barbara Hughes.
