On Oct. 19, the Brownwood High School Band competed at the Region 7 UIL Marching Band Contest at Early High School. The band earned a first division “Superior Rating” from all three judges. Judges at the contest were Jim Cude, from Whitesboro, Greg Miller, from Iowa Park, and George Strickland from the UIL State Music Office in Austin, Texas.

In addition to the high rating, the band received several encouraging remarks from the contest judges.

“Great show, well designed and a lot of fun,” stated Cude. Miller praised the show with the comment, “A very nice performance! I enjoyed the show! Good luck and best wishes.” Strickland also applauded the performance stating, “I really enjoyed your performance today – Congrats!”

“My congratulations to the High School Band,” said BHS Band Director, David Lambert. “They did a wonderful job.”
