Carl F. Wright, age 78, of Brownwood died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2013, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Brian Hall officiating and the Rev. Jeff Thompson assisting. Burial will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Carl was born July 3, 1935, the son of the late Homer Franklin and Cora Griffin Wright. At an early age the family moved from the Rising Star and Cottonwood area to the May area where he attended and graduated from school. He later attended Cisco Junior College. He was married to Evelyn Joyce Treadaway Kite in Brownwood on Dec. 23, 1976. He was a member of the Haven of Hope Church and was known for his work as a tile setting contractor which he did for many years.

Carl will be remembered as a man of great character and a friendly personality. He will be greatly missed by many who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wright of Brownwood; four daughters, Pam Hamlett of Dallas, Tonya Killion and husband Wesley of Franklin, Tenn., Vicky Wright of Houston, Joey Broussard and husband Lance of Early; five sons, Randy Wright and wife Beth of Brownwood, Steve Wright and wife Juanita of Brownwood, James Wright of Austin, Carlton Wright of Gun Barrel City and Tommy Wright and wife Drusilla of Abilene; a daughter-in-law, Robin Kite of Sweetwater; two brothers, Dale Wright and wife Darlena and Benny Wright and wife Becky both of Abilene; two sisters, Sybil Walters of Conroe and LaVerne Jennings of Abilene; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren also survive

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, At All Kite.
