Brownwood sophomore Sydney Roberts captured the Burnet Junior Golf Association Invitational by three strokes over the weekend, and the Brownwood Lady Lions finished fifth overall as a team.
The two-day event, held Friday at Delaware Springs in Burnet and Saturday at The Legends in Kingsland, saw Roberts fire an opening round 75 followed by a closing 81 to post a 156. Lampasasí Morgan Rogers was second with a 159 following rounds of 77 and 82, while Burnetís Lauren Beckwith came in third with a 172 after shooting an 83 and an 89.
Lampasas won the team title with a two-day score of 711 trailed by Leander with a 764, Marble Falls with a 769, Gatesville with a 795 and Brownwood with an 883.
Also competing for the Lady Lions were Audrey McKillip (112-116=228), Krista Fragua (118-128=246), Jessica Barrerra (118-135=253) and Sierra Mendez (143-138=281).
