COLEMAN — Funeral service for Barbara Ann McDonald, 78, of Coleman will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman. Burial will follow in Santa Anna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at Senior Care of Brownwood.
She was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Valera, to Foster and Ernestine LeSeuer Arnold. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and practiced as a nurse at multiple physician’s offices and at Seeley Hospital in Santa Anna. She was the Director of Nurses at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home, now Coleman Healthcare Center. She was married to Jacky McDonald on Aug. 8, 1953.
Survivors include her son, Jerry McDonald and his wife Denise of Lake Ivie; two daughters, Vicki McDonald Arthur of Abilene, Sherry McDonald Cozart of Breckenridge; two sisters, Diane Elkin and Glenda Kay Sprinkles and husband Robert, all of Brownwood; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy McDonald of Coleman, Joyce McDonald of Abilene; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacky Duane McDonald; son-in-law, Dr. John Steven Arthur; and a niece.
