COLEMAN — Funeral services for Wayne Pennington, age 77, of Coleman will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Concho Baptist Church, with the Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home.
He died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at his home.
He was born July 9, 1936, in Hermitage, Ark., to Roscoe and Charlestie Frazer Pennington. On Feb. 18, 1955, he was married to Carol Isbell in Warren, Ark. He was a project co-ordinator for Cavaloz Energy, Inc. in New Mexico and continued to work for them until his death. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Eunice. He was a member of Concho Baptist Church in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Pennington of Coleman; two daughters, Sherry Watts and husband Bob of Willis, and Terrie Shahan and husband Ron of Lake Coleman; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, James Austin Pennington and wife Donna of Hermitage, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Pennington.
