MIDLAND — Funeral services for Samuel Garland White Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, with Bill Adcox officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in Richland Springs Cemetery.
He died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at home.
He was born June 1, 1931, in the Browser Community, near Richland Springs to Ross and Margie White. He was married to Geneva McKinnerney on Dec. 22, 1950, in Rochelle. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He spent his entire career in the poultry industry living, and retired in 1995. He was member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva McKinnerney White; son, Samuel Garland White Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl (Billie), Maurice (Mae), and Weston (Cleo); and three sisters, Lula (Orville) Beakley, Leoma (Luther) Holder, and Maurine (Bill) Boulware.
