SALADO The Brownwood Lions soccer team dropped its opener at the Salado tournament Thursday, falling to Liberty Hill in a shootout, 5-4.

The Lions (2-4-1), who suffered their third straight defeat, received goals from Austin Snyder and Hugo Yebra, along with two own goals booted in by Liberty Hill.

Brownwood, which will be seeking its first victory since a 3-0 win at Abilene High on Jan. 14, returns to tournament action at 11 a.m. today against an undetermined foe.

The Lions will also play once more Saturday before hosting Granbury Jan. 31.
