This is to introduce and recommend that Justice John Bailey be elected in the upcoming Republican Primary as a Justice of the 11th Court of Appeals because of his qualifications and familiarity with the Court located historically in Eastland and serving this county.
Justice Bailey, son of the late Judge Scott Bailey, at one time the longest serving County Judge in Texas, virtually grew up in the Eastland County Courthouse.
After graduation with honors from Texas Tech School of Law, Justice Bailey first did a one-year clerkship at the court, serving as a briefing attorney under the highly esteemed Chief Justice Austin McCloud, now retired. He then worked in private practice in Abilene with a heavy emphasis in trial and appellate work. Justice Bailey returned to work at the court in 2001 as a permanent staff attorney, serving first under Chief Justice Bud Arnot, now retired. He than served under current Chief Justice Jim Wright in that capacity until this past October when he was appointed to the Court by Gov. Rick Perry. The governor appointed Justice Bailey to the court, there will be no break-in period for him after he is elected.
It is important that every eligible voter in this county which is served by the 11th Court of Appeals vote early or go to the voting site on Election Day and vote in the Republican Primary, especially for Justice John Bailey to the very important 11th Court of Appeals where he is already a veteran.
