LAMPASAS — The Brownwood Lions’ five-game District 34-4A soccer win streak came to a halt Tuesday night with a 4-2 road loss against the Lampasas Badgers.

Brownwood jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the first of two goals by Matthew Pickard, but Lampasas responded by putting four straight in the back of the net to take a commanding lead.

Pickard tacked on his second goal late in the second half, but the attempted rally was too little, too late for the Lions.

As a result of Tuesday’s outcome, the Lions dropped to 5-2 in District 34-4A action and 9-6-2 for the season.

The Lions will attempt to bounce back at 3:45 p.m. Friday when they host Robinson at Gordon Wood Stadium.

Lampasas 1, Lady Lions 0

LAMPASAS — The Brownwood Lady Lions suffered only their second District 34-4A soccer defeat, falling to Lampasas, 1-0, in a rematch of last year’s co-champions.

Brownwood slipped to 5-2 in district action and 10-5-2 overall with the loss.

The Lady Lions will host Robinson at 3:45 Friday at Howard Payne.
