COMANCHE ó Funeral Services for Bettie Faye Joseph Braziel Kilgore, 89, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Van Christian officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County.†Lunch for the family will be at First Baptist Church of Comanche at noon on Friday.
She died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Stephenville.
She was born in Riverside, Calf., March 30, 1925, to Thomas and Eliza Joseph. She was married to John Spurgeon Braziel on Sept. 16, 1944. Following Johnís military discharge in 1946, she moved to Comanche, where she lived for her remaining years. John preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1993, after 49 years of marriage. She married Lonnie Kilgore on Feb. 22, 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and later served as assistant to Dr. Roy Mims at Comanche Hospital, concluding her career in health professions at Western Hills Nursing Home. She was involved in social groups and enjoyed golf and tennis.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Kilgore of Comanche; children, Cheryl Montoya and Al of San Antonio, Kevin Braziel and Connie of Magnolia, and Kim Bachus and James of Stephenville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eliza Joseph; and sisters, Lillian Joseph, May Sheridan and Jean Parker.
