The Cherish, Live, Dream organization, of San Antonio, will be in Brownwood at 1 p.m. Saturday August 16, at Coggin park, to give away free school supplies.

CLD was founded by 1999 Brownwood HS grad, Stephanie Miller-Brew, who now lives in San Antonio.

"I started it back in 2012 as something really small," Brew said, "and I've just kind of been building and adding to it and made it official in January of last year."

The organization conducts fundraisers around San Antonio, to give back to the community.

"So, I decided being an alumnus of Brownwood High, why not give back to that community, as well," Brew said of the school supply donations.

Brew's willingness and efforts to give back to the community come naturally. Her father, Jodie Miller, works for Big Country Ford Lincoln and is involved in many service and philanthropic projects here, including his position on the board of Revitalizing Our Community (ROC).

Along with the give-aways, Brew said they will hold four raffles, including a bicycle and Air Jordan sneakers. Tickets for the raffles will be $5.

"We will give away supplies until we run out," Brew said, "so whoever needs supplies can come out."

Brew acknowledged the donors making the event possible included Starlight Roofing, Tipsy Brew Cakes, Walmart, and Dollar General, all of San Antonio.
