COLEMAN — Clyde Conley of Early, Texas passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Abilene Regional Medical Center at the age of 87 years.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends from 6 till 7 p.m. Saturday at Henderson Funeral Home.
He was born Clyde Raymond Conley on Sept. 1, 1926, in Syracuse, Kan., to the late Ernest Sylvester and Mary Conley. Clyde was raised in Kansas attending Kansas schools and was a member of the Baptist Church. On Oct. 15, 1954, Clyde was married to Lovanda Summers in Coleman, Texas, and they celebrated 59 years of marriage. He was a veteran serving in the Navy and Army Air Corps and Texas National Guard. He worked with Santa Fe Railroad as a signal maintainer until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Lovanda Conley of Early, Texas, son, Raymond and wife Annette Conley of Brownwood, Texas; sister, Sylvia Cantwell of Denver, Colo.,
two granddaughters, Angela Righi of Abilene, Texas, Cherri Conley of Brownwood, Texas; grandson, Steven Conley of Abilene, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah Righi of Abilene, Texas.
Clyde was preceded in death by one sister; and four brothers.
