The Arts Council of Brownwood has announced that the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Center at Brownwood High School.

The orchestra will be conducted by Daniel Black, the newly appointed assistant conductor of the Forth Worth Symphony Orchestra. Black has already received critical acclaim for his performance of Handel’s Messiah, a concert in which he unexpectedly had to step in after an injury to the scheduled conductor.

The program will include:

• Overture to The Magic Flute, K.620, by Mozart.

• Symphony to No. 8 in F Major, Op. 93, by Beethoven.

• Intermission.

• Symphony No. 6 in D Major, Op. 60, by Dvorak.

Tickets will cost $5 for adults and $3 for students, Tickets can be purchased at the door.

The orchestra will also perform for Brownwood third, fourth and fifth-grade students
