LAKE BROWNWOOD — Five fire fighting agencies responded to a fire around 5:30 p.m. on Friday night that ended in a total loss.
The two-story residence on County Road 569 at Lake Brownwood burned to the ground, despite the efforts of firefighters from Brownwood Fire Department, Lake Dam Volunteer Fire Department, North Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Lake Bridge Volunteer Fire Department and the Bangs Volunteer Fire Department.
When the first firefighters arrived on scene, the house was completely engulfed in flames.
Brown County Fire Marshal Buddy Preston said that the two-story wood-frame home was a total loss, and despite one occupant being home at the time the blaze began, no injuries were reported.
Preston said that he has not determined a cause for the fire at the time of publication, but that his investigatin was ongoing.
