KENNEDALE — The Brownwood Lady Lions rebounded from a season-opening loss at the hands of Kennedale with a 3-1 victory over Decatur Friday afternoon as the Kennedale tournament continued.
Brownwood picked up its first point on an own goal by Decatur, while Josie McClung — with an assist from Tristan Escamilla — and Kylie Davis found the net for the Lady Lions.
“Overall it was a pretty good game,” said Lady Lions head coach Keith Robinson. “I talked to them at the beginning of the game about not just showing up physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We needed to make sure we played to the level we were capable of, and this was definitely a team we were better than.”
The Lady Lions (1-1) will wrap up their opening weekend of the season at 11:30 a.m. Saturday back in Kennedale against an undetermined foe.
