3 p.m. - Chris Kyle, Chad Littlefield and Eddie Routh arrive at Rough Creek Lodge. Kyle planned the outing after Routh's mother asked him to help her son, who was reportedly suffering from PTSD.
4:55 p.m. - An employee of Rough Creek discovers the bodies of Kyle and Littlefield lying on the ground covered in blood.
8:34 p.m. - Routh is arrested near Interstate 35 and Camp Wisdom Road in Lancaster while driving Kyle's pickup. He is charged with two counts of murder and one count of capital murder and taken to the Erath County Jail.

Chris Kyle's memorial service is held at Cowboys Stadium. More than 7,000 people attend the service. He is laid to rest the following day in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin.
July 24, 2013
An Erath County grand jury indicts Routh for capital murder. He remains incarcerated at the Erath County Jail on a $3 million bond.
Aug. 20, 2013
Routh appears in court for his arraignment. He is accompanied by his attorneys Shay Isham and Warren St. John.

Routh appears in court again for a pre-trial hearing. He is escorted from the Erath County Jail by tight security.
Court sets Routh's trial date with jury selection set to begin Feb. 9, 2015.

The process to select 12 jurors and two alternates begins in the 266th Judicial District Court. An estimated 800 potential jurors received summons.
