KERRVILLE — The Brownwood Lions finished first Monday at the Warrior Classic, hosted by Ingram High School at the Schreiner University Golf Course, while the Lady Lions placed fifth as a team.
The Lions fired a 338 team score, five strokes better than runners-up Kerrville Tivy and Sonora. The Lady Lions, playing without two-time state qualifier Sydney Roberts, carded a composite total of 446.
Miller Baugh finished as the third-place medalist with a round of 79 for the Lions, while Michael Hemm came in fourth with an 80. Also competing for the Lions were Daniel Zillinski with an 85, Ben McCoy with a 94 and Tim Murray with a 96.
Leading the way for the Lady Lions was Audrey McKillip with a 101 followed by Krista Fragua with a 113, Sidney Ivey with a 114 and Kylee McCoy with a 118.
The Lions and Lady Lions will be back in action at the Llano tournament next week, before hosting the Bluebonnet Invitational Feb. 23-24.
