The Brownwood High tennis team collected four victories in 10 matches against Copperas Cove in dual action this past Saturday.

Earning wins were Lions singles players Kaden Thompson (6-0, 7-6, 7-5 over Justin Adams) and Matthew Thompson (1-6, 6-4, 6-3 over Brandon James); Lady Lion singles player Bailey Bishop (6-2, 6-1 over Zonya MacKielbrag); and the Lions doubles team of Bennie Salazar and Zach Hall (3-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Fletcher/Smith).

Suffering losses were Lady Lion Rachael Arrington (6-4, 6-0 to Bridget VanHecke) in singles competition; the girls doubles teams of Kendra Renfroe and Maritza Pargas (6-1, 6-4 to Greiner/McVeigh) and Arliss Lewis and Dariela Lares (6-0, 6-0 to Bliss/Donemarks); the boys doubles team of Michael Gomez and Austin Baker (6-0, 6-1 to Abraham/Alber); and the mixed doubles tandems of Brittney Blake and Jeremy Roberson (6-3, 6-4 to Gray/Wagner) and Phillip Trowbridge and Illianna Arenivas (6-4, 1-6, 6-3 to Gormer/Turner).

Brownwood is slated to take part in the San Angelo tournament Friday.
