Nearly three months after unanimously agreeing not to continue with a proposed $12 million pipeline project, the Brown County Water Improvement District will meet Tuesday to move forward with discussions regarding a possible alternative water source.
One possibility is to mirror Stephenville, which relies on a field of 30 wells that are 300-400 feet deep and draw from the Trinity Aquifer. The board will hear from Donnie Tibbits with T&S Petroleum Consultants regarding the exploration of the aquifer, as well as Collier Consulting and APEX Geo regarding the underground water.
In other business:
• The board will discuss and take necessary action regarding repair of Lateral 4 at Lakeway St.
• Hear from general manager Dennis Spinks regarding current events, projects and lake conditions.
The Brown County Water Improvement District Board of Directors will meet at 4 p.m. in the water district office.
