Melba was born Jan. 23, 1925 to Charles and Ora Lee (Cupp) McAdams in Harmony in Runnels County.
She married Lloyd Grun in January 1945 in Ballinger. Melba and Lloyd moved to Southern Taylor County in 1959 where they farmed and later owned a dozer service. On any given Saturday night she could be found listening to her favorite country and western programs on AM radio and later watching them on TV. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing at first out of necessity, then for enjoyment.
