The Weakley-Watson hardware store is helping raise money for this yearís Brown County Relay for Life campaign by selling pink 5-gallon paint buckets that bear the Relay for Life and American Cancer Society logos.

The buckets sell for $5.99, and with each bucket sold, Weakley-Watson is donating $3 from the proceeds to Relay for Life, owner Mike Blagg said.

Purchasers also get 20 percent discounts off of any items they can fit in the bucket, with a few exceptions. Those exceptions include items that are already on sale and power tools.

Purchasers can also enter their names for a bucket thatís filled with Motherís Day gifts.

The store ordered a pallet with 240 buckets and they will be available until they are sold out, Blagg said.

Bragg said paint department employee Kathy Kelly is the ďmother henĒ in the sale of the buckets.

Kelly, a 15-year employee who also works with electronics and electrical products, said she lost her father to cancer in 2006. ďI donít think thereís anybody who hasnít been affected by cancer,Ē Kelly said.

This yearís Relay for Life will be held at Longhorn Stadium in Early from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on May 22.
