COLEMAN — Graveside services for J.B. Jarvis, 59, of Iredell, and a former Coleman resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Homer Reddic officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Abilene Regional Medical Center
He was born Oct. 20, 2015 in Portales, N.M. to Raymond Wirt Jarvis and Clara Alvina Vielguth. He served in the United States Army. On March 5, 1984, he married Ola Dee Johnson in Cross Plains. He was employed with the Eastland County Water District at the time of his death. He also attended Canaan Baptist Church in Loraine.
Survivors include one daughter, Ola Dee Lobstein and husband Ernest Sr. of Cisco; one son, Billy Vest Jr. of Pleasanton; one sister and brother-in-law, Rae Jean Jarvis and Rex Thompson of Coleman; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Dee Jarvis; his parents; one brother, Robert Jarvis; and six sisters, Grace Johnson, Gwen Johnson, Violet Chaney, Linda Sue Parks, Betty Watkins and Ruth Diaz.
