The Howard Payne Lady Jackets volleyball team was unable to parlay Tuesday’s initial victory of the season into the first winning streak, as Mary Hardin-Baylor and Concordia chalked up straight-set American Southwest Conference road victories over the weekend at the Brownwood Coliseum.

In Saturday’s 25-19, 25-13, 25-19 loss to UMHB, Howard Payne’s Micah Cisneroz tallied 10 kills followed by nine from Shelbie Harry, three from Alyssa Beasley, two each from Callie Molloy and Ariana Rehm and one apiece by Alexandra Davis and Katie Schulte.

Cheyanne Lovelady posted 11 assists followed by 10 from Schulte, three from Molloy and two from Analisa Anzaldua.

Behind the service line, Anzaldua notched four aces and Cisneroz and Molloy added one apiece.

Defensively, Anzaldua finished with 13 digs followed by Taylor Reid with eight, Lovelady with four, Harry, Beasley and Briana Williams with three apiece, Cisneroz and Molloy with two each and Davis and Schulte with one apiece.

Molloy and Davis were also credited with blocks.

Leading the way for UMHB (9-7, 5-2) were Natasha Evans and Shelby Russell with 10 kills each, Shelby Prather with 32 assists, Russell and Jordan Yates with a dozen digs each and Evans with four blocks.

In Friday’s 25-18, 25-22, 26-24 loss to Concordia, Harry recorded a team-high 11 kills followed by Cisneroz with eight, Beasley with five, Madison Pendill with three, Molloy and Schulte with two apiece and Williams with one.

Lovelady distributed 16 assists, Schulte chipped in with nine, Molloy added a pair and Williams and Anzaldua were credited with one each.

Behind the service ace, Anzaldua collected three aces while Williams and Lovelady tallied one apiece.

On the defensive end, Molloy led the way with nine digs followed by Lovelady and Anzaldua with eight apiece, Williams and Reid with six each, Cisneroz with five, Harry with four and Pendill, Schulte and Davis with one apiece.

At the net, Pendill finished with three blocks, Beasley added two and Harry, Cisneroz, Schulte and Lovelady were each in on one.

For Concordia (6-5, 3-2), Jordan Redmond notched 13 kills and four blocks, K’Lyn Brigance tallied 20 assists, Katie Baker and Skye Truss served a pair of aces and Lexi Perez finished with 15 digs.

Howard Payne (1-12, 1-7) concludes its five-game ASC homestead with matches against McMurry at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Hardin-Simmons at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
