EARLY — The Early City Council will hold a public hearing related to the city’s plan to build a wastewater treatment plant when the council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Council members approved in April the issuance of $8.36 million in Certificates of Obligation to fund the construction of the  plant.

The city earlier received approval for a loan in that amount from the Texas Water Development Board to built the facility.

Construction is expected to last about a year.

Early pays Brownwood $324,000 a year to treat its wastewater, city officials said earlier.

After construction is complete, the operating cost will be $35,000 a year, and the facility will save the city $2.5 million over the life of the 30-year loan, then-City Administrator Ken Thomas said in September 2014.

In other business Tuesday, council members will:

• Consider entering an interlocal agreement with Brown County for ambulance service.

• Consider approving a special use permit to place a manufactured home at 103 West.

• Enter executive session to discuss the purchase of property.
