Lelia Mae Smith, of Brownwood, was born to Ida Lucille Morris and Preston Theon Morris on July 28, 1936 in Loraine. She passed from this life on Dec. 25, 2015.
She married Harvey Lee Smith, in Sweetwater, on Nov. 22, 1951. They lived in Sweetwater until 1964, and then moved to Gonzales. They relocated to Brownwood in 1995, where she has lived since.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eudera Patterson; a brother, Lowell Morris; her husband, Harvey Smith; and a son, David Smith.
She is survived by a son, Roger K. Smith of Marble Falls; two brothers, Douglas Morris of San Angelo, and Ray Morris of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Joyce Rogers of Texarkana; three granddaughters, Bonnie Smith of Austin, Kimberly Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Taryn Cline of Plano. She also had one great-grandson, Greyson Cline, of Plano. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at Davis Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church in Early.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations, in her name, to be mailed to Grace Baptist Church Missions, at 103 Salt Creek Drive, Early, Texas 76802.
