A Brownwood man and an Early woman were arrested over the weekend in unrelated cases involving sex with minors,
Cody Vita, 20, was arrested Sunday night on a sexual assault charge after he allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Brown County Jail records state. Vita is free on $15,000 bond.
Christina Gaines, 30, was arrested Saturday on an indictment for sexual assault, jail records state. Gaines is free on $25,000 bond.
According to a report by deputy John Gramling:
Gramling checked out a suspicious vehicle parked Sunday night at the 10 Mile Water Crossing on County Road 256. The location is well known for illegal activity, Gramling’s report states.
Gramling approached the vehicle, which was occupied by an adult male and young female. Both told Gramling they’d been involved in consensual sexual activity. The male told Gramling he knew the girl was 16 and also knew what he’d done was wrong, Gramling’s report states.
According to a Brownwood police report about Gaines’ arrest:
Police took a report of sexual assault of a child in July. A man told police his 15-year-old son had sexual contact with an adult female. The contact occurred about 20 times in Brownwood.
Others booked into the Brown County Jail between 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday were:
Lillian Baker, 36, Bangs, failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance.
Brandon Hernandez, 22, Brownwood, possession of marijuana.
Jacob Morgan, 27, Brownwood, DWI, driving with invalid license.
Danny Salas Jr., 41, Brownwood, failure to appear.
Edgar Zubia, 22, Greeley, Colo., possession of marijuana, failure to identify.
