(AP) — Former hedge fund CEO David McCormick conceded the Republican primary in Pennsylvania for U.S. Senate to celebrity heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz, ending his campaign Friday night as he acknowledged an ongoing statewide recount wouldn’t give him enough votes to make up the deficit.

The Brownwood school district had its end-of-year awards ceremony on May 27. The district announced Woodland Heights Elementary teacher Amy Hall as the Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Brownwood Middle School teacher Amber Villalpando (pictured right) as the Secondary Teacher of the Year.
