US takes control of Afghan embassy, consulates in NY, CA WASHINGTON – The United States has taken control of Afghanistan’s embassy in Washington and the country’s consulates in New York and Beverly Hills, California, the State Department said Tuesday. The State Department said that it had assumed “sole responsibility” for the security and maintenance of the diplomatic missions effective on Monday and would bar anyone from entering them without its permission until further notice.

CTC Police Academy accepting applications for training course
The Central Texas College (CTC) Police Academy is currently accepting applications for admission to the fulltime Basic Peace Officer academy course which starts June 27 and runs through December 2. The program includes 40 hours a week of classes and training, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. The deadline for submitting applications is June 20 at 5:30 p.m.
