Juneteenth will be celebrated in Brownwood with events June 19-22.

The Brownwood City Council unanimously appointed Deputy City Manager Marshal McIntosh as the next City Manager for the City of Brownwood.  McIntosh represents a dynamic new generation of municipal leadership—combining forward-thinking innovation with over a decade of proven experience in public service.  Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes said that the decision reflects a desire for continuity of vision for the City.  

A Brownwood man was sentenced in 35th Judicial Court to life in prison for burglary of a habitation, District Attorney Micheal Murray said.

Brown County Commissioners Court members approved a buy-back program for sheriff's office employees that will allow them to purchase additional firearms, if they desire, than the ones provided by the county.
