It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you the death of our beloved mother, Kathleen Hogan Shipley (90) on May 23, 2022, in the Philippines. A chapel and viewing service was held there from May 25-27, 2022. Her internment will be in Gouldbusk, TX cemetery, June 9, 2022, at 2:00pm with a grave side service conducted by Heritage Funeral Home. Mrs. Shipley is survived by two (2) sisters Patsy Wheeler and Glenda Thompson; two (2) sons Barry Glynn Williams and John Michael Shipley; three (3) nieces Tina Capps, Ann Funderburg and Bobbie Gail Raybon; seven (7) grandchildren and ten (10) great grandchildren.

Glendon ‘Glen’ Wayne Nethery, age 73, of Brownwood passed away June 1, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer and reconstruction surgery. Services will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Brownwood on Tuesday, June 7, at 10 a.m. with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Graveside military services will be held at Zephyr Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, June 6, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.
BROWNWOOD - Today, Saturday, May 28th, 2022, David Lester Price at 66 years, gave in to his long battle with cancer and is in pain no more. He was born April 9, 1956, in Bakersfield, California, to Jerry Wayne and Ruby Arlene (Richardson) Price. He went to school in California, and they moved to Gravette Arkansas in 1971. After high school he worked and learned the trades of building, plumbing, and electrical.
Harold Billow, 99, a Pennsylvania man who was the last known survivor of a World War II POW massacre that occurred during the Battle of the Bulge, died May 17. Billow’s Army unit surrendered and he was taken prisoner by Waffen SS soldiers as German forces launched their offensive in December 1944. According to various accounts, the Germans opened fire on the unarmed prisoners, killing more than 80 in what came to be known as the Malmedy Massacre. Billow said he played dead for hours before he and other survivors were able to reach safety.
Colin Cantwell, 90, who designed the spacecraft in the “Star Wars” films, died at his home in Colorado on May 21. Cantwell designed the prototypes for the X-wing Starfighter, TIE fighter and Death Star. He also worked on films including “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “WarGames.” Cantwell was born in San Francisco in 1932.
AUSTIN - Ada Jo Sedden passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
