Deanna Greer

Deanna Jean Straach Greer of Zephyr, passed away September 20th, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held at Heartland Funeral Home on Saturday September 24, 2022, at 10:00am. Interment to follow in the Zephyr Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00. Deanna was born to Eugene and Lillian Patterson Straach on November 7, 1943, in Dallas. She moved to Zephyr as a teenager and met and married the love of her life the late Tommy (Richard T.) Greer on May 27, 1961. They were able to celebrate 61 years of marriage. Deanna was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Zephyr, and she enjoyed many social groups including her Bunco groups, Canasta, and her beloved Bible study group. Cynthia “Cindy” Yarborogh

Cynthia “Cindy” Yarborogh passed away September 12,2022 in Brownwood, Texas. She was born in 1955 in Kingsville, Texas to Andrew Benson and Annette Inglet Milam of Bishop, Texas. Cindy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and mommy to Pepper, a salt and pepper Schnauzer and Rascal, a Wheatin Schnauzer. Cindy grew up and attended school in Bishop, Texas and was an original 9th Street Gang member, along with 72 other kids of similar age within a small town 3 block radius. She was a member of American Business Women’s Association, Federation of Houston Professional Women, and Tomball Chamber of Commerce. Cindy was 1996 ABWA Woman of the year, Tomball Charter Chapter and 1999 FHPW Woman of Excellence. She worked for BJ services from 1975-2013. During her 38 years there she held various positions promoting through service to Management Systems Coordinator at the Manufacturing, Research & Development & Instrumentation of Center at Tomball, Texas. Cindy gave Glory to God and loved Jesus Christ. She eagerly participated in various Bible study groups. Her hobbies included water skiing, snow skiing, golf, and bowling. She enjoyed family reunions on both Milam/Andrews and Inglet sides and visiting with family and lifelong friends. Cindy was survived by her brother, Richard Milam and Wife Dwanna D. Milam of Burleson, nephews- Andrew Ellis, Johnathan Eisenhauer, Codie Eisenhauer, Richard Milam, nieces- Amy Marshall, Jennifer Henderson, Holly Milam, and Chelsie Milam. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Andrew Milam and Annette Milam, a brother Andrew Milam Jr. and her sister Delice Eisenhauer. Visitation for will be held Friday September 16, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel from 4:00 pm 8:00 pm. A service will be held Saturday September 17,2022, at Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.

Jennifer L. Ratto

Jennifer L. Ratto of Abilene left this life Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the age of 59. She passed in her sleep after a nearly year-long battle with a non-curable neurological disorder, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She now walks without pain and has clear thoughts. Jennifer was born June 9, 1963 in Corsicana, Texas to Arlee Lockhart and Gladys (Martin) Ivy. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1981, and married Jimmie (Darroll) Ratto, Jr. May 17, 1986. She served as Fiscal Director for Taylor County Community Supervision and Corrections Department for 24 years, retiring and then returning as a contract employee for CSCD for 11 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, Mimi and friend, always willing to help others. She enjoyed fishing, crafting, cooking and shopping. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Arlee Lockhart; a brother, Ray Unger; sister Becky Evans; both sets of grandparents; and Woodrow Ivy and Robert Unger, who were both significant father figures in her life. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Darroll Ratto of Abilene; son Brody Ratto and wife Jennifer (Jenny) and their daughter, Melanie; son Seth Ratto; mother Gladys Martin Ivy; brother Bobby Unger; several nieces and nephews; Lou Unger, who was a special mother figure; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Patsy Ratto; and sister-in-law Ramona Ratto. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Beltway Park Church Chapel, 4009 Beltway S., in Abilene. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Rocky Creek Cemetery, 4300 CR 557, Brownwood.
