The Howard Payne women’s soccer team evened its record at 1-1 by beating Texas Lutheran 2-1 Saturday at Citizens National Bank Field. Marisah Mata scored HPU’s first goal with an assist from Hannah Noel at the 16:02-mark.

MARBLE FALLS -Embarrassed by how they lost their football season opener, the Brownwood Lions answered in Week 2 with a dominating and near-flawless effort during a 55-16 beating of the Marble Falls Mustangs on Friday night.
BANGS – Sawyer Wilkerson rushed for 273 yards and four touchdowns Friday night, leading the Class 3A Comanche Indians to a 42-18 nondistrict football win over the 2A Bangs Dragons. Wilkerson gained 214 of his yards and scored all four of his touchdowns during the first half.
BELTON -- The Howard Payne volleyball team earned its first win for new head coach Josh Gerig with a 3-2 victory over Centenary in a season-opening event at Belton. The Lady Jackets won the decisive fifth set 16-14.
