The HPU women are scheduled to open their season at home against the University of St. Thomas at 2 p.m. Sept. 1 at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field. The HPU men are scheduled to host an exhibition match against Texas A&M-San Antonio at 2 p.m.
The Brownwood Lions and Lampasas Badgers tied 1-1 during the controlled portion of their football scrimmage Thursday at Lampasas. But the Lions overwhelmed the Badgers 28-6 during a live 15-minute quarter with a continuous clock.

Howard Payne University’s inaugural HPU North Texas Alumni Golf Tournament was a sold-out success with 36 teams participating. The capacity crowd of HPU alumni, friends and personnel gathered to network, enjoy a round of golf and support the university, with proceeds designated for student scholarships.
