Dr. Kenneth H. Benson

Dr. Kenneth H. Benson, 75, of Lubbock, TX passed away on August 13, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. He was born on October 19, 1946, to Faye (Cox) and Kenneth Benson in San Diego, CA. Dr. Benson graduated from Texas Tech University Medical School in 1975. He was a Board-Certified Urologist, a

Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Texas Surgical Society. For over 35 years, Dr. Benson practiced urology primarily in Brownwood and Lubbock, TX. He retired in 2014. Dr. Benson was an avid golfer and a wine connoisseur. He loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family. Dr. Benson is survived by his wife, Christie, and their three children: Jeff (Elizabeth) Benson, Becky (David) Hale, and Scott (Mia) Benson. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Ryan, James, Reese, William, Skylar, Harlow, and Thomas. Dr. Benson is survived by his three sisters: Kathryn (Paul) Billing, Kristina (Greg) Cosgrove, and Kerri (Rob) Tweed; his mother-in-law, Shirley Wells; his sister-in-law, Debbie Erbes; two brothers-in-law: David (Miriam) Wells and Phillip (Patricia) Wells; and 15 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on September 4, 2022, at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, in Lubbock. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Combest Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lubbock.
