Kendall Kent

Kendall Ray Kent, 64, of Blanket, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Visitation with family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 8, 2022 in the Blanket cemetery, Blanket, Texas.

Kendall was born August 31, 1957 in Abilene to Farrell Ray and Edwina Stuard Kent. He graduated Midland High School 1976. Kendall served in the Air Force from 1976 to 1982 and spent one year in Korea and received an Air Force Commendation medal before being Honorably discharged in 1982. He graduated Howard Payne with a degree in Psychology-Sociology. Kendall began working in the West Texas Oilfield at age 16 and worked in the oilfield until he graduated college. Kendall began working for the Brown County Juvenile Probation in 1993 until his passing. His biggest interest has always been music. His collection of music is huge. He loved old vehicles and working on them. He enjoyed being on the ranch watching the cows and spending time with his family. Kendall had a Christian faith and was very devout in his studies. He was a member of The Sons of the Republic of Texas and the Military Order of the Stars & Bars. Kendall enjoyed working with kids and their families, he tried to make a difference in everyone’s life.

Kendall is survived by his wife, Kim Furry Kent; sons, Ronald Ray and wife Alice Kent, Blayse Turner and wife Yesenia Kent, Taylor Wesley and wife Krystal Kent; sisters, Karen Kedziora, Lisa Scott, Renee Guest; brother, Curtis Barker and wife Sally; grandchildren, Devon Jaglowski, Iris Kent, Bryson Kent, Noah Kent & Kashlyn Kent; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kendall was preceded in death by his father, Farrell Kent; mother, Edwina Stuard Kent; father-in-law, Wayne Furry; uncles, Ronnie Kent, Terry Kent; sister-in-law, Sandra Furry; and an aunt Reba Loos.
