Dana Lynn Garcia of Brownwood and John Anthony Alvarado of Brownwood were united in marriage at 1 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 in Brownwood.

The bride is originally from Dallas and has lived in Brownwood for 10 years. She is employed with the Brownwood Bulletin as an accountant. She has a daughter, Olivia Garcia, and a son, Alex Garcia.

The groom graduated from Alvarado High School in Alvarado. He served his country in the Marines for eight years and is a disabled veteran. He has been a resident of Brownwood since being discharged in 2012.

Those who attended the small, impromptu wedding were John’s mother, Hope Alvarado; John’s sisters, Alex Banks and Lisa Trevino; John’s brother, Joe Alvarado and his wife Michelle; Dana’s mother and step-father, Pam and Jerry Trickel; Dana’s children, Olivia Garcia and her boyfriend Cade Patteson and Alex Garcia; and nieces and nephews, Azariah Dillard, Dakota Simpson, Kailey Alvarado, Natalie Trevino and Madison Alvarado. Friends in attendance were Karen Wade and Brittany Craddock.

The couple plans to honeymoon in the fall.
