Dr. Robert Shelton was recently voted Collinsville’s “Favorite Veterinarian.”

Shelton was born in Brownwood, graduated from Zephyr High School, attended Tarleton State University and attended Veterinary School at Texas A&M.

“I would like to send a special thank you to all of the readers who voted for me as the Readers’ Choice Favorite Veterinarian,” Shelton said of the award. “I grew up on a small Ranch in Central Texas. We raised beef cattle and had a small goat dairy. I first became interested in veterinary medicine as a young boy after helping deliver some baby goats at our barn. I became even more interested after taking animals into our local veterinarian and watching various procedures. I have worked in rural mixed animal veterinary medicine since my graduation. We love to treat all types of animals covering Denton, Collin, Cooke and Grayson counties. We provide many types of medical and surgical procedures for both large and small animals. I have an interest in cattle health and reproduction along with equine, small animals, and exotics. We provide A.I. and ultrasound services to many clients in the area as well as vaccination and herd health consultations. I enjoy working with the local FFA and 4H groups which consists mostly of pigs, goats and lambs. Nothing would be possible without my wife and best friend C.J. as well as our beautiful twin daughters Jolee and Allee. I look forward to seeing you and all your critters in the future. “
