Brownwood Superintendent Dr. Joe Young had no comment Monday on social media posts that claim a school district employee is being investigated for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with one or more students.
The posts claimed the employee, a female, had been terminated or had resigned. No one has been arrested on any charges that would suggest an inappropriate relationship.
“We can’t comment on personnel issues,” Young said. “But I can tell you student safety and well-being are a top priority.”
There have been no recent terminations or resignations at the school where the employee, who was named in some of the posts, works, Young said.
Young declined to comment on whether law enforcement is investigating any school district employees on that type of allegations, but said, “Any type of allegation like that would be thoroughly investigated by the school district.”
