A two-vehicle accident Sunday night in south Brownwood sent five teenagers from one vehicle to Brownwood Regional Medical Center. The driver of the other vehicle, who was not at fault in the accident, was taken to the hospital for a blood draw for suspicion of DWI, police said.
The 10 p.m. accident happened at the intersection of Parkway and Southside.
According to a Brownwood accident report:
A teen driving a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee southwest on Parkway failed to yield the right of way to a 2007 Chevrolet 3500 pickup traveling southeast on Southside. The two vehicles collided, resulting in injuries to all five of the Jeep’s occupants.
Lifeguard EMS transported two girls ages 16 and 15, and the other occupants — a 16-year-old girl and two 15-year-old girls — were taken to the hospital in private vehicles.
The driver of the pickup, a 24-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in a patrol car for a blood draw. He was also seen for injuries, police said.
