Deputies arrested three people on drug charges and issued several citations for minors in possession of alcohol after being dispatched to a large party around 3 a.m. Sunday.
In unrelated incidents, deputies and Brownwood police made drug-related arrests following weekend traffic stops, and police arrested a motorist on a DWI charge after a two-vehicle accident.

Party in the 1000 block of Days Trail
Deputies were initially dispatched to the party in the 1000 block of Days Trail, off Days Hill on Highway 279, after someone reported hearing multiple gunshots, reports state.
Deputies arrested Hayden Hammond, 21, of May, Melissa Doty, 22, of Brownwood and Walter Tyler, 20, of Brownwood on charges of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, Brown County Jail records state.
According to reports by deputies Taylor Fletcher and John Gramling:
Fletcher and Gramling, assisted by Early police Cpl. Brandon McMillian, saw about 10 vehicles in the area and made contact with about 20 people. Several people fled into the surrounding area while others were detained and identified.
Gramling saw a male, identified as Hammond, throw something to the ground. The male told deputies he’d thrown a bag of marijuana to the ground. Deputies recovered the marijuana and arrested Hammond.
The party disbanded and deputies cleared the area at 4:50 a.m. At 4:58 a.m., a woman called 9-1-1 and reported a male had taken her keys and was attempting to take a vehicle without permission.
Deputies returned to the scene and separated two groups of people who had arrived after the original call. Deputies learned Tyler and thrown a firearm under a vehicle as deputies arrived.
An argument had occurred but no one claimed to have been assaulted, and no reportable offense appeared to have occurred. While returning Tyler’s firearm to his vehicle, Fletcher smelled marijuana and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.
Deputies found drug paraphernalia and marijuana in the vehicle’s center console. Tyler and his girlfriend, identified as Doty, had occupied the vehicle earlier that night while traveling to the party, and both were arrested.

Traffic stops
Gramling made a traffic stop Friday night at U.S. 183 and County Road 291 and smelled marijuana.
A passenger in the car, Reno Zepeda, 20, of Lubbock, surrendered marijuana. Gramling found drug paraphernalia and THC infused paper, which tested positive for marijuana in a field test.
Gramling arrested Zepeda on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance (THC infused paper).
Gramling also made a traffic stop at 12:04 a.m. Sunday in Zephyr. The driver, Jared Head, denied consent to search, and the Early Police Department’s K-9 unit, consisting of McMcMillian and the drug dog Jambo, responded.
The dog alerted on the car, and Gramling arrested Head, 27, of Dallas, on a charge of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.
Brownwood police made a traffic stop Saturday night and obtained consent to search the vehicle, a police report states.
Police found synthetic cannabinoid and arrested two 20-year-old Abilene residents, Mercedes Alardin and Eric Lee II, on charges of possession of a controlled substance over 4 ounces under 5 pounds.

DWI accident
Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident a Coggin and Vine in Brownwood and arrested Steven Duncan, 60, of Brownwood, on a DWI charge.
The accident occurred when a woman driving north on Vine began a left turn onto Coggin, police said. The woman entered the intersection on a yellow light. Duncan, driving a pickup south on Vine, was stopped at the red light. When the light turned green, Duncan accelerated forward and struck the woman’s car as she completed the left turn.
