The ARK Domestic Violence Shelter (The ARK) recently accepted a donation of $200.00 from the residents and day care participants at ResCare. ResCare offers residential and support services, education, vocational training and job placement for people of all ages and skill levels with a focus on people with disabilities and youth with special needs. The activities center has a small store where they sell items to the residents and with the profits that accumulate at the canteen, the residents themselves vote on where they want to give this money. This time, they chose The ARK.
“We are always grateful for every donation, but it is especially sweet to be chosen by the residents of ResCare for this donation.” said Terri Densman, Executive Director of the ARK. “These are caring, loving folks whose smiles show their genuine concern for others.”
Mary Silver, Volunteer/Program Coordinator, and Savannah Cox, Community Education Coordinator at The ARK, both went to a recent party at ResCare to accept a check from the residents there. Several residents eagerly volunteered to be in the picture when Patricia Daub, Day Care Program Supervisor, handed over the check to Ms. Silver.
