Officers of the Brown County Child Welfare Board admire the winning posters drawn by county school children after Saturday’s Child Abuse Prevention and Welfare Fair held at Heartland Mall. The grand prize-winning poster, at top left, was drawn by Alison Kathleen Stuart. The eleventh grader at Early High School, whose teacher is Tasha Carter, was not able to attend the presentation ceremony. The theme for the poster contest is “No Excuse For Child Abuse,” and posters continue on display at the mall. Child Welfare Board officers shown, from left, are Suzanne Johnson, secretary, Sherry Clark, chairperson, and Cotton Wood, vice chairperson.
